A global health company, Vestergaard Frandsen has furnished products designed to help people in need stay healthy since 1957. Among its achievements, Vestergaard Frandsen holds the title of the world’s top provider of long-lasting insecticidal bed nets.

To fight malaria, Vestergaard Frandsen developed its PermNet bed nets, which are recognized for contributing to the overall reduction of deaths from malaria by approximately one third. The technology behind the bed nets enables the continued release of the deltamethrin insecticide without dipping or re-treatment. This protects against vector-borne diseases, including malaria. To date, more than 1.5 billion individuals have used the nets, and the company has also released additional products in the PermaNet line, including PermaNet 3.0, which targets mosquito populations that have formed metabolic resistance to common insecticides.

The other products Vestergaard Frandsen makes have had a similar impact on global health. Time Magazine named its LifeStraw water filter the Invention of the Year, having helped more than 780 million people access clean drinking water, and ZeroFly is the world’s first insecticide-incorporated screen designed to keep livestock safe from dangerous biting flies.
